Hello Everyone! Another Friday coming up and another great session we have planned this week. Bring extra towels and grab extra fans as we will be hitting up the volcano climb 2x with some in between long sustained efforts. ITS GOING TO GET HOT!
Here's what we have in store this week...
We will be taking on Two Laps of the Volcano Climb Route. First we will have a nice long warm up this time to get the legs ready for out first Threshold effort up the volcano climb. This will be an 8-9 min climb and our goal will be to sustain 100% of our FTP (Yellow Zone 4). then we hit the tip and keep it going at an endurance pace to get through the flat section at the top and descend down with some good recovery.
Next we hit the flats and focus on different levels of tempo. I will Discuss the benefits of training within different levels, and cadences within each zone. Diversity with training is a game changer as it builds more well rounded muscle, but also gives you the ability to be well versified and more able to adjust to different training loads. This will in all get you stronger and lead to overall longevity.
We then take on the Volcano climb one more time for the day to wrap it up. This time we will focus on pacing the best and keeping the best momentum to get to the top the fastest. We will shoot to beat our last time and wrap the day off with a good solid climbing effort!
